Carson City sheriff's deputies arrest naked man seen in front of Nevada State Legislature
A man was arrested Tuesday for gross misdemeanor indecent exposure near the Nevada State Legislature on South Carson Street, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
At around 6:10 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the area of South Carson and West 4th Street for a report of indecent exposure.
Dispatch advised there was a bearded man without clothes on, on "all fours," licking the street, the report states.
A deputy arriving on scene was flagged down by a witness who advised the suspect was hiding behind the Nevada State Legislature walkway. The deputy located the suspect who was in the process of putting on a shirt, the report states.
The suspect was wearing black pants that were inside out and his shoes were partially on. The subject verbally identified himself and advised he was released from Carson City Jail earlier in the day. The man was detained.
A witness spoke with the deputies, confirming the man was the suspect, describing him as being completely naked and smacking his penis on South Carson Street, the report states.
A second witness who was able to provide video evidence, which showed the man completely naked on the east side of Carson Street in front of the Nevada Legslature. The man was also described as smacking his penis.
The report notes that where the man had been on South Carson Street is highly populated by residents and visitors and that there are multiple businesses and restaurants nearby.
There is also an in-ground water feature in the area that is occupied by children during the summer months, the report states.
The suspect was placed under arrest. He had a new Arial hat and horse bit in his possession, which were confirmed to be stolen from Cal-Ranch. The store did not wish to press charges.
The man provided a preliminary breath test of .152 and was taken to jail. He was also booked for Department of Alternative Sentencing violation of conditions. Bail: $5,500.

— A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant alleging domestic battery and assault constituting domestic violence. The warrant was issued May 10, 2023 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 51-year-old Carson City man, Scott Murray Johnstone, was arrested Monday for a felony failure to appear warrant issued June 27, 2023 out of Douglas County. Bail: $2,088.
