Carson City and Lake Tahoe casino gaming revenue soars again in April
Statewide casinos also saw gaming revenue climb to nearly 5.4 percent for the month, including a huge jump at establishments in Stateline at South Shore Lake Tahoe, which saw gaming revenue — also known as “win” — climb nearly 60 percent over April 2014 figures.
Carson City area casinos, which include those in Garderville, Minden and all other areas of Douglas County except for Lake Tahoe, took in gaming revenue amounting to $8,494,637. In April 2014 it was $8,001,992 making the increase nearly 6.2 percent, according to figures.
South Tahoe casinos saw April gaming revenue amounting to $14,520,821, compared to figures during the same time frame, 2014, of $9,080,729. The revenue jump may have been a result of the opening earlier this year of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Lake Tahoe, formerly the Horizon, as well as preparation for early May's run of the Amgen Tour of California Women's USI stage event.
