Carson City deputies make arrests over weekend for obstruction, drugs and DUI
A 29-year-old Mound House woman was arrested Friday for alleged misdemeanor obstruction, a criminal contempt warrant and other offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
The driver, who was stopped at 10:39 a.m. for driving with suspended registration, presented herself to a Carson City sheriff's deputy with a false name. After other information was made available through a records check, a deputy asked her why she gave a fake name. The woman stated she knew she had a warrant but "needed to take care of a few things before I turned myself in," the report states.
She was also booked for driving with a suspended driver's license, suspended registration, no proof of insurance and the warrant. Bail: $3,000 cash for the warrant, $1,137 for obstruction/resisting.
In other arrests:
— A 21-year-old Carson City man, Daniel Hopper, was arrested Friday, 8:14 p.m. for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (suspected methamphetamine) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and a Department of Alternative Sentencing violation. Bail: $2,500. Also arrested was Kimberley Ann Wroth, also of Carson City, for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (suspected methamphetamine) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
— A 39-year-old Carson City woman, Stephanie Lee Baumgardner, was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony parole and probation violation, misdemeanor Department of Alternative Sentencing violation and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held without bail in lieu of a hearing for the parole and probation violation.
— A 24-year-old Sparks woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of DUI. According to the booking report, a deputy observed a vehicle with one of its headlights out near the intersection of North Roop and Winnie Lane. A traffic stopped was made and a deputy spoke with the driver. The officer observed the driver having red, watery eyes and a strong odor of alcohol coming from her breath. There was also a passenger in the front seat who was sleeping and appeared intoxicated, the report states.
The driver denied drinking alcohol or using drugs and agreed to field sobriety tests, which she showed signs of impairment. She provided a preliminary breath test of .183 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. At jail she provided evidential breath tests of .113 and .094. Bail: $1,137.
— A 37-year-old Reno woman, Dina Michelle Wood, was arrested Friday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (suspected cocaine) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500. Also arrested in the traffic stop was Dale Ronald Craig, also of Reno, for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (suspected cocaine) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
— A 31-year-old Virginia City woman was arrested Saturday for suspicion of misdemeanor battery of a protected person. According to the booking report, the woman was at Behavior Health Services and threw a sign off of a wall, striking a nurse in right upper arm and forearm. The nurse advised she wanted to press charges. Bail: $2,000.
— A 39-year-old Dayton man was arrested Saturday for a warrant alleging failure to stop at the scene of an accident. The warrant was issued March 27 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000 cash.
— A 75-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of disorderly conduct. According to the booking report, a deputy was dispatched to the 1700 block of North Roop for a woman being highly intoxicated and yelling outside the front door of her apartment.
A deputy arrived and located the woman banging on the window of another apartment. The suspect, who was yelling about surviving 96 heart attacks, was arrested for suspicion of disorderly conduct. Bail: $,1,137.
