Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Dayton woman arrested for child endangerment, second DUI

A 32 year-old Dayton woman was arrested Friday afternoon at 3:16 p.m. in the area of South Curry and West Tenth street for a pair of gross misdemeanors and a traffic misdemeanor, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

Gross misdemeanor offenses included child endangerment and second offense driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol.

According to the arrest report, Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene of a reported fight and vehicle crash. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the driver of a silver sedan, which had reportedly left the scene of a fight before crashing.

The female suspect driver was identified and explained she failed to stop at a stop sign because she was upset over an argument she had with her boyfriend, the report said. Her failure to stop at the stop sign caused a collision with another vehicle, she reported.

Her six year-old child was in the back seat of the suspect's sedan at the time of the collision.

The suspect's eyes were observed to be red and watery. She smelled strongly of alcohol. When asked if she had been drinking alcohol, the suspect admitted to consuming half of a 24-ounce Locos alcoholic beverage, the report said.

She voluntarily consented to field sobriety testing (FST) which showed signs of impairment. The suspect also voluntarily submitted to preliminary breath testing (PBT) which returned a value of .165 percent breath alcohol content.

At that point, the suspect was handcuffed for suspicion of DUI and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $2,500.

In other arrests:

— A 27 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday evening at 6:13 p.m. in the 10 block of Marlette Drive for misdemeanor battery, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputy responded to a battery call and met with the victim upon arrival. The victim reported she was a caregiver for the suspect, a special needs male who had become angry and began to hit her on both of her arms using closed fists. A red mark was identified on the victim's left forearm.

The victim reported that the suspect also entered the kitchen area and began to throw objects, the report said. Another woman came forward as a witness to the incident.

Law enforcement then questioned the suspect, who was found sitting on the floor in the kitchen and refused to speak with the officer. He stated he wanted to kill himself, the report said.

The suspect refused commands to stand up and struck the officer in the leg with a right closed fist as the latter approached the former to take control of his arm, the report said.

The deputy responded by rolling the suspect forward to the floor from his seated position and placed him in handcuffs. He was transported to the Carson City Jail and booked without further incident. Bail: $1,000.

— A 31 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday night at 9:03 p.m. in the 900 block of South Carson Street for misdemeanor trespassing and disorderly conduct, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

According to the arrest report, an unwanted subject was reported at a business in the area. Law enforcement responded to the call and met with the property security officer, who had detained the suspect in handcuffs.

The suspect was asked to leave three times, the security guard said, by three different staff members and responded to them, stating "I could take the big one. Oh, s---! There is three of them!"

The suspect did initially leave the premises, but was observed to be changing his clothes inside a vehicle in the parking lot, the report said. He then walked back onto the premises, where he was asked again to leave four times.

The suspect said he would not leave until he got water. He became outloud when he was again asked to leave, the report said, and security placed him in handcuffs at that point due to what was described as aggressive and challenging behavior.

When questioned by a Sheriff's deputy, the suspect admitted he was asked to leave several times. His eyes were observed to be red and watery during questioning. He spoke loudly toward the deputy and appeared unable to stop moving, the report said.

The suspect did consent to a PBT, which yielded a result of .034 percent breath alcohol content. Law enforcement determined that due to the suspect's erratic behavior he was acting under the influence of methamphetamine and alcohol.

He was then taken into custody by the deputy and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $150.

— A 37 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday night at 9:32 p.m. in the area of North Carson and Robinson streets on a misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence warrant issued out of the Carson City Justice Court, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.

According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputy made a traffic stop on the suspect's vehicle. A records check through Carson City Dispatch for wants and warrants confirmed the active bench warrant.

The suspect was handcuffed and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $1,000.

— A 24 year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday night at 9:41 p.m. in the area of Washington and Division streets on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued by the Carson City Justice Court, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.

He also admitted to having injected himself with one point of heroin early in the day.

A records check by dispatch confirmed the active bench warrant. He was handcuffed and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $215.
