Walmart on Topsy re-opened after woman uses pepper spray substance on customers
East Fork Fire and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office were on scene of an incident this afternoon at Walmart on Topsy Lane south of Carson City involving a woman who used a pepper spray substance on customers. The store was temporarily evacuated and is now reopened, officials said.
The woman was reportedly spraying customers with a mace or pepper spray substance at around noon. The woman was subsequently detained by customers in the vision center. A total of seven people within the vision center were affected.
East Fork treated the patients for the exposure and may transport only one of them to the hospital for further treatment.
East Fork had evacuated the store to limit the number exposed. There are at least 13 other people who say they could feel the effects throughout the store.
Carson City Health has cleared the scene on any food related issues. Check back for updates on this developing story.
