Carson City and Lake Tahoe area road report through Jan. 18
Here is the Carson City area road report for the week of Jan. 12-18, 2015. On Tuesday, Jan. 13, the northbound left turn lane at Carson Street and Hot Springs Road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There will be restricted lanes on East Fifth Street between Linda Kay Court and Parkland Avenue from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Two-way traffic will be maintained. Please use caution.
On Monday, Jan. 12, there will be utility work on the west side of Mountain Street between both ends of Tahoe Drive from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The following sidewalk closures are scheduled to occur Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.:
— The west side of Carson Street between Proctor Street and Telegraph Street (a small section will be permanently closed Monday through Wednesday).
— The north side of Proctor Street between Carson Street and Curry Street.
Elsewhere, roadwork around Lake Tahoe has been suspended for winter. The following from Caltrans is roadwork through portions of the Sierra for this week.
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): Work is complete on a $15.1 million project to replace the bridge over Sly Park Road in Pollock Pines. The project also added sidewalks to both sides of Sly Park Road, curb and gutter and curb ramps.
U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $57 million project by El Dorado County to construct a new overcrossing over U.S. Highway 50, new on- and off-ramps with signalized intersections, and new bicycle and pedestrian facilities at Silva Valley Parkway in El Dorado Hills.
Jan. 11-17: Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Sierra College Boulevard to Newcastle Road: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures and on-ramp closures from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday through Saturday for bridge work. Motorists also can expect one-way traffic control from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday on the Brace, Horseshoe Bar, King, Penryn, Gilardi and Magra overcrossings for bridge work.
State Route 49 (Placer County) from the junction with State Route 193 in Cool to Borland Avenue/Lincoln Way in Auburn: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for drainage work.
State Route 49 (Nevada County) from Cameo Drive to just north of Mother Lode Road: Motorists can expect intermittent full highway closures for a maximum of 10 minutes at a time from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday for utility work.
State Route 49 (Yuba/Sierra County) from Marysville Road to the Yuba Pass Summit: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday for maintenance work.
Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Donner Pass Road to Proser Dam Road in Truckee: Eastbound motorists can expect the No. 2 lane closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday for pavement repair.
Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from the Acid Flat Bridge to the Sierra County line: Eastbound motorists can expect the No. 2 lane closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday for guardrail repair.
Interstate 80 (Nevada/Placer County) from Donner Lake Road to Yuba Gap: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures at various locations from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for guardrail repair.
