Heavenly at Lake Tahoe opens Olympic Express
Access to more terrain opened up to skiers and snowboarders Friday at Lake Tahoe. Heavenly Mountain Resort opened Olympic Express, offering guests access to upper Olympic Downhill run. The resort is currently operating 18 lifts, accessing 25 trails, and has three access points to the mountain open, including the Heavenly Gondola at Heavenly Village, Stagecoach Lodge in Nevada, and California Lodge off of Ski Run Blvd.
“We’ve been able to consistently open additional intermediate and beginner terrain during the last week, and opening Olympic allows skiers and riders to ski the full length, 1.6 miles, of Olympic Downhill,” said Pete Sonntag, vice president and COO of Heavenly. “With this new terrain and the great deals out there, January is an ideal time to give skiing or riding a shot for the first time, or to take your game to the next level.”
January is Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month, and at Heavenly, adults can jump into the sport with two lessons for the price of one. The $179 package includes two consecutive days of half-day skiing or snowboarding lessons, limited access lift tickets and rental equipment. Half-day lessons are available at 10:00 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. This package is available with advanced purchase by calling 530-542-6904.
