Learn and Even Laugh about Dementia
The Dementia Resource Center of Northern Nevada will host a workshop designed to educate and help people caring for a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Caring for a loved one with dementia is daunting, creating new challenges and situations at every turn. This workshop is designed to give caregivers, family members and loved ones the skills and knowledge needed to cope with the situation, and even find some humor in it. It will also help ease the anxiety and fear that goes along with the care giving.
Renowned experts and authors Pat Smith (Who Are You and What Have You Done with My Mother) Candace Stewart (Welcome to Planet Alzheimer’s) and Dr. Steve Rubin (Dementia, the Musical) will lead the workshop. They will share stories and answer questions about dementias and other age related memory loss conditions.
The four hour workshop takes place on Tuesday, September 18th from 8:30am to 12:30 pm. A continental breakfast will be served. Reservations can be made by calling 775-283-9888 before September 17th.
