Reno Aces, Nevada Wolf Pack set exhibition game for April 5
The Reno Aces and the University of Nevada Wolf Pack baseball team will play their annual exhibition game on Tuesday, April 5 at 6:05 p.m. at Aces Ballpark, the organizations announced today.
“As is the case every year since I have managed the Aces, I am really excited about our exhibition game against the Wolf Pack,” said Aces third-year manager Phil Nevin. “It's great for our players to prep for the season and it means Opening Day is near.”
“This year has even more meaning on a personal level with my good friend [Nevada Head Coach] T.J. Bruce leading the Pack now,” Nevin continued. “I can't wait for April 5 to arrive.”
Tickets can be purchased at www.renoaces.com at the regular & child/senior rate, or for the discounted rate at the Reno Aces Ticket Office beginning on March 12, when all single-game tickets will go on sale. Prices are $14 for adults and $7 for children 12 and younger, seniors 62 and older and members of the military, with all proceeds benefiting the Nevada Dugout Club, the primary supporter of Pack baseball.
The University of Nevada Ticket Office is selling discounted tickets for only $10, while supplies last. Tickets can also be purchased at Nevada’s ticket office in the southwest corner of Lawlor Events Center from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, by calling (775) 348-PACK, or at www.nevadawolfpack.com.
The contest will mark the seventh consecutive season the two teams have played an exhibition game. Over that span, the Aces have donated $85,000 to the University of Nevada Dugout Club, the main fundraising body of the University of Nevada baseball team.
"We’re thrilled about the opportunity to play our annual exhibition game with the Reno Aces,” said Bruce. “[Aces President] Eric [Edelstein] and his staff run a first class organization. We’re thankful for this opportunity as our players have a chance to learn from the Aces and play at a professional ballpark as our student-athletes pursue their dreams of professional baseball. I’d like to thank the Aces for the support they continue to show for Wolf Pack baseball.”
As in previous seasons, the game will be played with Aces pitchers and catchers playing for both teams. All players will use wood bats, and the contest will last seven and a half innings. The game serves as a final tune-up for the Aces before opening the 2016 season on Thursday, April 7 at 6:35 p.m. vs. El Paso at Aces Ballpark.
Ticket packages are on sale now at www.renoaces.com or by calling (775) 334-4700. For up-to-date news and notes throughout the offseason, follow the club on Twitter (@Aces) and like the team on Facebook.
