10th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival South Lake Tahoe
Presented by the Sierra Nevada Alliance, South Tahoe Earth Day Committee and Patagonia South Lake Tahoe, the 10th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival South Lake Tahoe combines award-winning environmental and adventure films with the energy of local activism. Featured films will include exciting outdoor adventures, environmental battles and inspirational stories of people making a difference. The Film Festival will take place on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the MontBleu Showroom.
“This year we’ve chosen adventure films with a message and inspiring environmental stories to encourage the audience to take action on issues that impact our environment, ourselves and our world,” said Lynn Baumgartner, Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps Partnership Program Director at the Sierra Nevada Alliance. “The films highlight the beauty of our natural world, the awe of outdoor adventure, and the determination of people making a difference - this festival is unique.”
The 10th Annual Film Festival will feature a VIP Backstage Reception, a silent auction, giveaways and beer & wine. The Film Festival will also include an Activism Area where festivalgoers can learn more from Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps Partnership Members about the issues affecting the Sierra Nevada. It will be a zero waste event, with recycling and composting available at the venue.
Advance tickets are $12 for Sierra Nevada Alliance members, $15 for non-members and $10 for students. Tickets can be purchased at www.sierranevadaalliance.org/events and at Patagonia South Lake Tahoe. Tickets will be available at MontBleu the night of the show for $20. Doors open at 6 p.m., films start at 7 p.m.
