Doug Walther on The Brother Dan Show, Jan. 24
On Monday, January 17, The Brother Dan Show will feature local singer/songwriter Doug Walther. Having first picked up a guitar at the age of 12, Doug began writing and recording after retiring from a 30-year career as a state’s attorney, and released his first CD, “Old School”, a mix of original songs and cover tunes, in 2018. His follow-up CD, “Sit Back and Try to Relax”, was released in 2020.
This episode will give viewers a glimpse into the story behind the songs, and a look at what’s in the future for this local songwriter, as well as give the local in-person audience a chance to relax and nosh on munchies provided by Mangia Tutto, one of the show’s sponsors, at the same time. The production is proving to be a way to draw the local community together with music, food, and refreshments.
Local music lovers (21 years of age and over) are invited to join the live audience at the Bank Saloon in Carson City, where the show runs from 4:30pm-6:30pm. Online audiences can watch live (and replays on-demand) on Facebook at the host’s music page: Brother Dan Palmer. Please note that while the online show is family friendly and suitable for all ages, the live studio audience is limited to adults 21 and over.
The Bank Saloon, at 418 S. Carson St. in Carson City, has quickly become a favored gathering place for locals, with a historically significant building and its convenient location.
