A breakfast Thursday morning hosted by the Northern Nevada Development Authority will feature a panel of experts who will discuss the business of energy, industry and innovation.
The meeting will be held at the Carson Nugget. Doors open at 7 a.m. with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. The cost is $20 for NNDA investors with reservations and $35 for guests or at the door. Questions, contact NNDA at (775) 883-4413.
With the focus on business development, the discussion will focus on ways to make the region innovative and profitable.
The panel includes:
— Jim Groth, Director of the Nevada State Office of Energy, who will discuss how his background in renewable energy initiated the use of solar panels at the Nevada National Guard facility in Carson and how his involvement in the Nevada Revolving Loan Fund is helping to shape and promote innovation in Nevada.
— Roger Jacobson, Desert Research Institute Energy Program, will present DRI's newest innovation in building construction and how energy efficiencies can be met through innovation.
— Stephen Olson, President and CFO of ElectraTherm, will share how the company’s innovative technology generates electricity from waste heat, increasing green energy development in the world of stationary engines, geothermal applications, biomass boilers and process waste heat. The company recently won a grant from the Department of Energy for $1 Million to demonstrate its technology in Imlay, Nevada.
The program will be moderated by Patty Wade, Wade Consulting, who herself is an entrepreneur and innovator when dealing with property management and development, financing, and overall business innovations.
