Carson girls dominate Reno in 1-0 regional winDarrell Moody RENO - Carson High kept its unbeaten record intact with a 1-0 win over Reno in the opening round of the NIAA 4A girls soccer playoffs Saturday afternoon at Damonte Ranch High School.The win moves Carson into Thursday's semifinals against South Tahoe at 7 p.m., also at Damonte. South Tahoe and Reed were scoreless after regulation, went through two 15-minute overtime periods, a five-player shootout and a sudden-death shootout before the Vikings emerged with the win. Carson had a win (2-0) and tie (1-1) against the Vikings in the regular season.The Senators' game wasn't as close as the score indicated. Carson had a 15-10 advantage in shots taken, and the Senators had more quality scoring opportunities.
