The Tahoe Fire & Fuels Team will resume prescribed fire operations this week in the Lake Tahoe Basin, conditions and weather permitting. California State Parks, California Tahoe Conservancy, Nevada Division of Forestry, North Lake Tahoe and Tahoe Douglas fire protection districts, and the USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit will be burning piles in numerous locations. Smoke will be present.

RENO — One of the top shopping days of the year is Cyber Monday, which falls three days after Black Friday every year. Traditionally, these sales would pop up for the day or weekend before; however this year, online holiday sales started as early as Halloween and will continue throughout the holiday season.

Two Carson City Cheer Teams will be participating in national cheer competitions, and need community support in order to compete.

The two capital city teams are the Carson Senators JV Cheer Squad and the Carson City Pop Warner PeeWee Senators cheer team.

The Carson Senators JV Cheer Squad have conquered both their local and regional competitions, and have set their sights on the JAMZ Nationals in Las Vegas.

The next Carson City Board of Supervisors meeting will be held on Thursday, Dec. 1 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Bob Crowell Board Room of the Community Center, located at 851 E. William Street.

After supply chain issues during the pandemic caused widespread shortages, retailers now find themselves with the opposite problem: excess inventory. With 21 percent more inventory than they had a year ago (equaling a whopping $732 billion), many retailers are worried their profit margins are about to take a hit.

Part of the problem has to do with a shift in what consumers are buying as the pandemic eases its grip.
