Western Nevada College hosts 'Better Together' early childhood education conference
Judging from the attendance at the Early Childhood Education Conference last month at Western Nevada College, interest in the profession of childcare and educational development of young children is at an all-time high.
More than 100 people attended the conference presented by the Carson Douglas Early Childhood Advisory Council in WNC’s Carson Nugget Hall. Attendees included a mix of early childhood education professionals and Carson High School students.
In addition, seven vendors complemented the conference by setting up their information stations in the Bristlecone Building.
The theme of the annual conference was “Better Together.” The CD ECAC believes that creating strong partnerships between the Carson and Douglas ECE communities makes child development professionals better and stronger educators and advocates for the region’s youngest children.
Vendors included the NevAEYC, Community Chest Inc., Nevada Families First, Home Visiting, Carson City Health and Human Services, and Quality Rating and Improvement System.
