Carson City seeks applicants to serve on committees, advisory
The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applicants to fill seats on its Audit Committee, Redevelopment Authority Citizens Committee and the 911 Surcharge Advisory.
The Audit Committee has three positions open, one due to resignation and the other two are from expiration of terms. Applications will be accepted until Dec. 21.
The Redevelopment Authority Citizens Committee has two positions open due to expiration of terms. These positions are for Business Operator or Property Owner for both RDA 1 & 2. Applications will be accepted until Jan. 4, 2023.
9-1-1 Surcharge Advisory Committee has 2 positions open due to expiration of terms. Applications will be accepted until Dec. 16.

Carson City Audit Committee
The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from individuals who may be interested in serving on the Audit Committee as a Citizen-At-Large. There are two (2) open positions, each to fill a term that ends in December 2024; and one (1) open position to fill a partial term that ends December 2023.
Applicants must be:
— A resident of Carson City.
— Have experience in financial services, public accounting, and/or governmental auditing, and current knowledge of public laws and regulations governing an audit committee.
— Shall not accept any consulting, advisory, or other compensatory fees from the city and may not be an affiliated person with the city or any subsidiary thereof.
The role of the Carson City Audit Committee is to maintain oversight of the auditing function, internal and external, resulting in increased integrity and efficiency of the audit processes for the city and the city’s system of internal controls and financial reporting.
The Committee meetings are held at least quarterly. Applicants should be prepared for a minimum commitment of up to three hours a month. The positions shall serve without compensation.

Applications will be accepted until Dec. 21, 2022. Interviews for this volunteer position are tentatively planned to be held at the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023.
Redevelopment Authority Citizens Committee
The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Redevelopment Authority Citizens Committee.
There are two (2) open positions: One (1) Business or Property Owner Redevelopment Area 1 and one (1) Business Operator or Property Owner Redevelopment Area 2.
— Business/Property Owner Redevelopment Area 1 & 2 each for term that will expire January 2026.
The Committee’s primary purpose is to make recommendations to the Redevelopment Authority on Redevelopment Area Plans, incentive programs, special event funding, and other matters pertaining to the Redevelopment District. Applicants should be aware that a minimum commitment of up to 10 hours a month is expected. All members will serve without compensation.
— Applicants must be Carson City registered voters.

— Applications will be accepted until Jan. 4, 2023. Interviews for the volunteer position will be tentatively scheduled for the Jan. 19, 2023, Board of Supervisors meeting.
9-1-1 Surcharge Advisory Committee
The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from individuals who may be interested in serving on the 9-1-1 Surcharge Advisory Committee.
There are two (2) open positions, each for a full-term ending December 2024.
Citizen at Large; must be a resident of Carson City and possess knowledge concerning telephone systems for reporting emergencies.
The purpose of the 9-1-1 Surcharge Advisory Committee is to serve as the official advisor to the Carson City Board of Supervisors in developing a 5-year master plan for the enhancement or improvement of the telephone system for reporting an emergency in Carson City and to oversee any money allocated for that purpose.
The Committee meetings are held at least quarterly. Applicants should be prepared for a minimum commitment of less than 2 hours a month. The positions shall serve without compensation.

Applications will be accepted until Dec. 16, 2022. Interviews for this volunteer position are tentatively scheduled for the Board of Supervisors meeting on Jan. 5, 2023.
