At approximately 1:28 p.m. Saturday, Central Lyon Fire responded to a brush fire east of Bryce Street on the northwest side of 10 Mile Hill, east of Dayton.

Carson City firefighters called to Dayton brush fire Saturday afternoon

Central Lyon County Fire was dispatched to the area of 10 mile hill east of Dayton for a reported brush fire at approximately 1:25 PM.

CLCFPD is being supported in firefighting efforts by Carson City, Storey County, BLM, NDF, Yerington, North Lyon and Lyon County Road Department.

Crews are actively fighting fire. There are no reported injuries or evacuations at this time. Cause is not known at this time.

Carson City firefighters were called to Dayton at 1:29 p.m. Saturday on an immediate need for mutual aid to tackle a brush fire.

Yerington Intermediate school vice principal arrested in child pornography investigation

Detectives from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Division, along with the assistance of Homeland Security Investigations and the Northern Nevada Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (comprised of members of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and Sparks Police Department), began an investigation earlier this week into the vice principal of Yerington Intermediate School, 54-year-old Scott Darrington of Yerington.

Beginning on March 16, 2020, Lyon County School District students and the students of all Nevada schools were asked to stay home — a measure taken by our government leadership in response to the world health crisis surrounding the COVID-19.
