Carson City arrests: Driver refuses sobriety tests, jailed for suspected DUI
A 37-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI, a Carson City sheriff's deputy report states.
According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched at 7:46 p.m. to the area of Koontz and Silver Sage in reference to a possible DUI driver.
The reporting party stated the driver was swerving all over the road and nearly hit a parked vehicle. The RP followed the vehicle and told dispatch it was stopped in the area of Oak and Roventini streets.
A deputy arrived at the location and saw the suspect vehicle stopped in the roadway several feet from the curb. The officer observed a female in the driver seat. During the time of contact, the officer observed she had slow and thick slurred speech. She became uncooperative and kept trying to touch and grab the officer, the report states.
The deputy told the woman several times to exit the vehicle. The woman said she could not get her seat belt off. Once she was able to get out she was uneasy on her feet and had to lean against her vehicle for balance, the report states. She was asked if she would perform field sobriety tests. The woman said she would not, and would not complete a preliminary breath test, the report states.
The woman, later identified as being from Yerington, was placed under arrest and taken to jail where a deputy read her Nevada's informed consent law. She refused a blood or breath test. A judge was contacted and a telephonic search warrant was granted for a blood draw. She was booked into jail without incident. Bail: $1,137.
