CARSON CITY — Western Nevada College’s Community Education Department is now enrolling students for a variety of fall courses, including old favorites like Clay Club and brand new classes like Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Community education classes are open to anyone in the Northern Nevada community and are designed to accommodate a variety of schedules and budgets.

Nevada Health Centers is excited to welcome Amani Altamimi, M.D. to our team in Carson City. She will be an asset to the Sierra Nevada Health Center team and its patients. Dr. Altamimi received her Medical Degree from King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

She completed Residency programs at East Orange General Hospital in East Orange, New Jersey and Central Michigan University in Saginaw, Michigan. She is active in several professional organizations including the American College of Physicians and American Geriatric Society.

Although the fall semester has begun at Western Nevada College, many noncredit educational and self-improvement classes are still available through WNC Continuing Education.

Class offerings range from learning the Washoe language to Tai Chi, to accounting methods designed for small business owners.

MoTiYoGaChi (pronounced Moe-Tie-Yo-Gah-Chee) combines primal tribal movements with the fluid, meditative movements of tai chi, chi kung, and yoga. A fun, low-impact, multi-level movement class to strengthen the body, energize the spirit, and calm the mind. 'Moti' will leave you feeling alive, empowered, energized, and filled with peace. $5.00 per class for 10 weeks beginning August 20th (excluding Labor Day weekend) ending October 29th, 2016.
