2015 Beer and Brats Fundraiser for the Nevada Sharks

The annual Carson Girls Softball fundraiser for the Sharks Tournament Softball teams will be held on May 15th starting at 6PM at the Fuji Park Exhibition hall. For a $20.00 donation you will get all you can eat bratwurst and all you can drink beer! There will be a silent auction, raffle and door prizes from local business plus it’s a great time. All proceeds go to the Sharks tournament season and fund the program keeping the overall costs down for the girls in our community.

Annual Beer and Pizza Championships return to Carson Mall April 25

The Rotary Club of Carson City and High Sierra Brewing Company bring you the Fourth Annual Carson City Beer and Pizza Championships at the Carson Mall, Saturday, April 25. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and will run until 9:30 p.m. Join local Rotarians, business owners, and other Carson City movers and shakers. First Lady Sandoval has worked as an advocate of foster youth, children and families in-need in Carson City and Northern Nevada. Ron Wood Family Resource Center will honor the First Lady on May 16 from 2pm – 6pm at the Governor’s Mansion.

Senator Square: Mural contest winner paints 'Road to Success'

The Greater Nevada Credit Union branch at CHS recently sponsored a Mural Contest open to all Carson High Students. All entries were judged and the 1st place winner was Athena Favero, who received a $200 Amazon Gift Card. Second place and a $100 Amazon Gift Card went to Michael Rose. As part of the contest, Athena painted her winning design "A Senator’s Road To Success” on the hallway wall outside the GNCU branch at CHS. Students and staff are encouraged to come by and see her winning mural at Carson High School. Congratulations to our winners, and thanks to all the students who entered.

The sun is shining, the flowers blooming, the birds chirping, the wind gusting, and Carson City is hopping! Easter fun can be found this weekend at the annual EGGstravaganza at Carson Tahoe Medical Center, the Children’s Museum, the Carson Mall, and the Brewery Arts Center.

Head over to Mills Park for the Vietnam Veterans Day Celebration, complete with military vehicles, exhibits, and more. For demonstrations from soldiers with an even older history, the Nevada Civil War Volunteers will be in Dayton Saturday.

Rotary Club of Carson City gears up for April's Beer and Pizza Championships

Now considered a Carson City spring tradition, the Rotary Club of Carson City will play host to its fourth annual Carson City Beer and Pizza Championships at the Carson Mall on Saturday, April 25.

The community is welcomed to taste, judge and enjoy finely crafter beer brewed from around the region and piping hot fresh pizza tossed and baked from local restaurants. Sixteen respected craft beer brewers and microbreweries will offer their top selections to attendees as they compete for awards during the Championships.

Senator Square: Calling all Carson High School Alumni

For the last six years, Carson High School has held an alumni night at the Carson-Douglas basketball game in which alumni are recognized and celebrated. It’s a chance for alumni to come back and visit the old stomping grounds, support the Senators and a chance for us to celebrate contributions and the lives of CHS alumni. The Alumni games will be held February 13 against Douglas Tigers.

'The Vagina Monologues' at BAC to raise money for Advocates to End Domestic Violence

It’s a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, abuse, and self-questioning staged to benefit a local charity that houses, counsels, and works on the front lines to protect victims of abuse in Carson City.
