Silver City Arts' annual show and sale is Saturday December 7

Silver City Arts group's Saturday, Dec. 7 holiday event from noon to 4pm includes music by cellists Diane Kotik and Becky Crowe, a holiday craft activity for all ages led by Erich and Chali Haugen, and complimentary sweets.

Carson City sheriff's investigators seek identity of suspects in theft of electric bicycle

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is asking for information into a grand larceny of an electric bicycle earlier this month.

Panera Bread to join Chick-fil-A at new South Carson City shopping center

Groundwork is currently underway for the new shopping center that is currently scheduled to contain Carson City's first Chick-fil-A, and the capital's first Panera Bread is now said to be joining in.

After-hours burglary being investigated after man found dead from fall at Carson City shopping center

UPDATE: Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong says the incident, in which a man was found dead after apparently falling through the roof at a Carson City shopping center business, is being investigated as a possible after-hours burglary and that the deceased man had been dead for some time.

According to Sheriff Furlong, workers at a hair salon came into the business to open up for the day. When they arrived they found a deceased male on the ground, who appeared to have fallen through the ceiling.

Retailers: Nevada Halloween spending projected to surpass $139 million

With Halloween next Thursday, Silver State retailers who have stocked up on spooky goods say consumers are projected to spend an estimated $139.4 million on ghostly decorations, costumes and sweets to celebrate, according to estimates by the Retail Association of Nevada.

Nevada retailers projected to hire more than 7,000 workers for holiday season

Retailers in Nevada and nationwide have ramped up hiring campaigns in preparation for the 2019 holiday shopping season. In the Silver State, the Retail Association of Nevada estimates retailers will boost hiring by 7,100 new positions during the October-to-December holiday shopping period.

V&T Railway ends season this weekend with steam, 150th anniversary and Toast of the Canyon trains

CARSON CITY — V&T Railway will bring its event-filled 2019 season to a close this weekend with a final 150th Anniversary train on Friday, Oct. 11, vintage steam trains on Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13 and a Toast of the Canyon spirits train on Saturday, Oct. 12 following the steam train.
