You will learn what inspires them, witness their techniques, and be stimulated by their passion for the creative process. Adulting 101: Carson City JAG program teaches career skills, communication and self-advocacy

Jobs for America’s Graduates, also known as JAG, is a program across the country that teaches life skills to high school students, so that they can be prepared for the work force after graduation. However, Carson City’s own Pioneer High School’s JAG instructor, Chyanne Corley, has taken that idea farther. She teaches her students not only to be prepared for the work force, but to become confident, well rounded adults.

New WNC scholarship honors memory of instructor Mike Dugan

A new scholarship through the Western Nevada College Foundation honors the memory of Michael Albert Dugan. The Mike Dugan Memorial Scholarship will be awarded annually to a Fallon, Churchill County or rural student to be used toward materials for online or Fallon campus classes.

Students benefit from Campagni Auto Group Western Nevada College scholarships

Carson City Toyota has generously funded $5,000 in scholarships for students attending Western Nevada College this fall. This donation is dedicated to helping students who are pursuing careers in automotive mechanics as well as students pursuing their associate degrees in other academic areas.

Two Eagle Valley Middle School students and two Pioneer High School students and their families experienced a tragic fire May 16 in Carson City.

Antonio and Alexis Trujillo’s family, and Jordan and Theodore Leyva’s family are now displaced following this incident.
