Carson High School draws hot wheels, car enthusiasts to third annual 'A Place To Shine' fundraiser
The scorching pavement of Carson High School’s parking lot didn’t keep spectators from enjoying the third annual “A Place to Shine” Show and Shine fundraiser in Carson City.
With all makes, models and years welcome, the yearly car show, hosted by Nevada Rural Community Partners and sponsored by Nevada Rural Housing Authority, raises money for scholarships to help low income students participate in extracurricular activities.
Out to demo for the crowd were skateboarders and scooter riders from the Wheelhouse, as well as food and craft vendors, bounce house, live D.J. and raffles.
The event goes until 7 p.m. Saturday and is free for spectators. Same-day car registration is $20-$30.
