The newly created award celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit of eBay’s community of small business owners throughout the U.S. in five categories. eBay selected 15 nominees from over 1500 entries, but the public chooses which business owners win ‘Best in Class’ through online voting.

After a long hard week, take Saturday evening to watch this rollicking 1983 classic with great casting, script, directing, settings, performances, action, music, editing and themes. Plus hot planes and some explosions.
There are many great aspects of the film, but we want to note one we find profoundly appealing. Something the world needs these days.
Lineup for Brewery Arts Center's free summer concert series
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Sat, 04/30/2016 - 9:00amThe Brewery Arts Center (BAC) in downtown Carson City will be hosting a free summer concert series this year, sponsored by the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation.
Through the efforts of the BAC, Carson City was one of 15 cities nationwide awarded the concert series for 2016.
The Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series kicks off June 4 and will run every Saturday evening through August 6 with live music starting at 7 p.m. along Minnesota Street next to the BAC. The 10-week music series will include one Friday night show on June 17.
The concert series is free and open to the public.

While weeds are merely plants out of place, they taunt us with their persistence. They torment us and our pets with their burrs. They take over the lovely flowerbeds we work so hard to keep attractive. They compete with our veggies for water and nutrients. They overpower our desirable plants. They can harbor pest insects.
Later, after their growing season is over, their spent woody structures may blow up against fences or all over the yard creating a fire hazard.

St. Patrick's Day DUI checkpoint in South Lake Tahoe

Former District Court Judge Michael Fondi dies

Fondi had been in home hospice care when he died, said Fitzhenry’s General Manager and Funeral Director Jim Smolenski. No funeral arrangements have been made at this time and will be forthcoming.

Although these tiny pests are barely visible, they become annoying as they buzz around your face. The gnats are actually short-lived flies that infest the potting soil of houseplants. They can go from egg to adult in about 17 days, depending on temperature, with larvae emerging from the eggs in four to six days. They develop more quickly with higher temperatures. There can be multiple generations in a year. Adults live approximately one week and may lay up to 300 eggs
