The usual options of Geeks Who Drink Trivia at Westside Pour House, Country Line Dancing at Carson Lanes, and the Farmers Market in McFadden Plaza still apply. Throw in some great music on the veranda at Adele's, a Ukulele Jam at Mormon Station in Genoa, and a Vintage Chevy Meet-up in Virginia City and things get a little more random. Crossroads Lounge is hosting their last Wednesday night karaoke this week; a new night and time will be announced soon. Carson Hot Springs invites all Veterans and Military members to come swim for free today.

Enjoy the Mile High Jazz Band this evening in the Comma Coffee Courtyard: special guest vocalists Cindee LeVal, Jakki Ford, and June Joplin make this a ‘don’t miss’ event. (Carson City, NV) – The week of August 7-14 is the seventh National Feeding Pets of the Homeless Give a Dog a Bone week. The national organization, Pets of the Homeless asks the public to locate a donation site in their community by visiting petsofthehomeless.org. Donations of pet food should be taken to one of the identified, local sites.

Carson City-based Pets of the Homeless, the only national nonprofit organization that is focused on feeding and providing emergency veterinary care to pets of homeless people, was recognized for their outstanding achievements as a family owned business and for making significant contributions to the community and giving back.

Pets of the Homeless and its partners are hosting a free wellness clinic. The clinic will be on a first come, first serve basis for the first 100 pets. There will be free vaccinations, exams, pet food, supplies and nail trims.
The event is Saturday, May 21, 2016 beginning at 9 a.m. at FISH, 138 East Long St., Carson City.

Carson City's Pets of the Homeless annual food drive received record breaking donations on Monday. This national organization is dedicated to helping the homeless population provide for their pets through annual food and supply donations. The food drive generated 700 more pounds than last year's donations.

Chef Don Pepe “The Paella King” of Carson City has announced a fundraiser aimed to help a program designed to help Pets of the Homeless.

Beginning now through Dec. 31, the sale of superior olive oils from Portugal and 25-year-old balsamic vinegar from Modena Italy are available for sale at Downtown Coin, 111 West Telegraph Street in Carson City. Downtown Coin is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Michael Hohl Motor Company is proud to launch their Second Annual ‘Give A Dog A Bone’ pet food drive to fill a pickup for the nonprofit organization Pets of the Homeless. They provide pet food and basic emergency veterinary care to the homeless pets in local communities across the United States including Carson City.

If you have the kind of luck that brings rain as soon as you wash your car, please drive over to Squeaky’s Car Wash at the corner of Highway 50 E and Lompa Lane. It’s their opening weekend and they are offering free car washes and raising funds for the Carson City Community Counseling Center.

If you consider yourself adventurous, then the Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry in Virginia City is for you. It’s not nicknamed the Testicle Festival for nothing! If you need some liquid courage, take part in the Ball Breaker Saloon Crawl. The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade heads down C Street at noon.

Carson High School Senior Project: Give a Dog a Bone

On Saturday, March 14 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Mykelti O’Brien, a senior at Carson High School will be collecting pet food and pet supplies at Benson’s Feed & Tack, 2750 Highway 50 East in Carson City. The donated pet food and supplies will be delivered to FISH’s food bank for distribution to the homeless and disadvantaged in our community.

During October, Michael Hohl Motor Company held a pet food drive to fill a pickup for the national nonprofit Pets of the Homeless. A total of 1,580 pounds of pet food and supplies filled the pickup and where delivered to FISH of Carson City on Monday.

Senator Square: Carson High senior Caden Lehman wins national rodeo event

Caden Lehman, a senior at Carson High School, an officer for the Capitol FFA program, and an officer in the Douglas-Carson High School Rodeo Club, recently had his biggest win doing what he loves. He is involved in Team Roping and Calf Roping and is a member of the American Cowboys Team Roping Association. 

Recently at the ACTRA National Finals in Reno at the Livestock Events Center, Caden won the Super 7 National Championship, landing him and his partner, Jack Curry of Gardnerville, each new Royal T 3-horse trailers, buckles, and $10,000 cash.

Evergreen Gene's collects dog food beginning at 10 a.m. Fridays and the community is asked to dona any bags or cans of dog food for the Pets of the Homeless. Your donations are to provide pet food for the homeless in our community, Pets also need to eat. High Desert Horsemen 'Trail Trial' set for Sept. 14

High Desert Horsemen, a local horse club that was established in 2005, will be holding its annual Trail Trial at Fort Churchill Boy Scout Camp, Weeks, NV on Saturday, September 14, 2013. The club donates a good portion of the proceeds back to the community. Last year's recipients were: Dayton Food Bank, Kids N Horses, Dog Town Canine Rescue, and Feeding Pets of the Homeless.
