Her latest artwork will be showcased in an exhibition on the 4th Floor Gallery of nearby St. Mary’s Art Center, 55 North R Street, Virginia City, from Oct. 14 through Oct. 21. The public is invited to the catered opening reception on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Her illustrated talk, "Vegas Culture on the Rise", is part of CCAI’s ongoing Nevada Neighbors series and will take place at 7pm at the Community Development building [the Brick], 108 E Proctor St, Carson City. There will be an informal reception for Quinn preceding the event at 6:15pm. The presentation and reception are free, and the public is cordially invited.

The winner of the 2011 Governor’s Arts Award for Excellent in the Arts, Warner takes a fresh approach in her current exhibition, “Second Nature,” which is featured at the Nevada Arts Council’s OXS Gallery in Carson City from Sept. 25 through Nov. 10.

She discovered the Talking Books program at the Nevada State Library and Archives and introduced it to her grandson.

Librarians meet with Nevada lawmakers to petition funding

“We would take our kids to lap sit at the library and leave with 30 books — for each child,” he recalled. “Our home was full of books. There’s no way we could have afforded that without the library. We also participated in musicals at the library. It’s just an integral part of my family.”
