Historic Sierra snowpack modifies, enhances Carson City Off-Road course
Submitted by editor on Tue, 05/09/2017 - 10:26amAdapting to a very snowy winter in the northern Sierra Nevada, Epic Rides announced Tuesday a modified course for the Capitol 35 and Capitol 50 events for the 2nd Annual Carson City Off-Road mountain bike festival June 16-18. The Capitol 15 will be unchanged from last year.

Larry Hicks, 74, told the deputy he had been in the canyon for a couple of days and was suffering from severe dehydration.

NWS forecasts Carson River to crest above flood stage by Saturday in Carson City area

As of 4:15 a.m. Friday morning, the river in Carson City was measured at 9.2 feet, reaching flood stage when it crests at 10 feet.
The NWS forecasts the Carson River is expected to rise above 11 feet by Saturday, staging the river at major flood levels for the second time in a month.
