Heading into Labor Day weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region. Steam train rides in Carson City and Virginia City will be available Saturday through Sunday. The Carson Canyon Railbike Tours will run four times over the next three days, bringing excitement unlike any other. The American Cancer Society is hosting a poker run Saturday at Mills Park, and a free lacrosse clinic for kids ages 6-12 will be held at John L. Harvey Field. The Nevada Humane Society is virtually hosting its annual “Adopt a Duck” fundraiser for interested participants. CARSON CITY — Since Rockabilly Riot started in 2010, Lindsey Harrison has attended each show, particularly the pin-up contest. “I’ve watched it every year, but I was never confident enough to try it,” she said.

Last year, however, fresh off a divorce and ready to dive into new things, Harrison submitted her photos for consideration for the Miss Rockabilly Riot pin-up contest.
