Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 01/26/2017 - 8:57amBorn in Pittsburgh, PA., the second eldest child of Joseph Patrick McGuire Jr. and Sylvia Francis May, Joe spent his early childhood in and around that area, moving often due to his Father’s work.
In 1964, at the age of 13, he and his family moved to Carson City, the Capital of Nevada. It was there, playing in the school band, that Joe had discovered a love of music that would become the muse that he would follow the rest of his life.

Activists from organizations including the Sierra Club, Peoples Climate Movement, Avaaz and others took part in public Sunday strolls and rallies at two key venues, the Reno-Tahoe International Airport and public sidewalks near Meadowood Mall, as part of global climate actions coordinated by 350.org.

Saturday, August 1, the festivities begin at 1 p.m., rain or shine. You have until 5 p.m. to hit as many stops as possible before the raffle begins. Every first Saturday over thirty shops, restaurants, businesses, and organizations stock up on wine and goodies and throw open their doors to the crowds of merry-makers. It's always a great reason to explore downtown.
The wine walk runs from 1pm to 5pm. Sign up at the Carson Nugget, Cactus Jacks, Bella Fiore Wines, Carson Jewelry and Loan, Remedy's Bar, or Touched by Angels.

This year, 15 local restaurants and farmers will be paired together to produce mouthwatering samples for festival-goers to enjoy. Each food sample will be paired with an accompanying wine, also local to the region.
