A 39-year-old woman was arrested Friday for suspicion of felony child abuse and neglect, possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, a Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team report states.

A 21-year-old Carson City man and a 41-year-old transient woman were arrested in the 100 block of E. Long Street for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and violating bail conditions.

According to the report, Allen Lee Parkins and Kesa Dawn Pascal were arrested by Special Enforcement Team deputies after deputies spotted Parkins and Pascal leaving a hotel known for “heavy drug traffic.”

A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested for suspicion of felony commercial burglary, possession of methamphetamine and heroin and four misdemeanor offenses, a Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team report states.

This Saturday, June 13 is Nevada’s annual Free Fishing Day. That means anglers here in the Silver State can fish without purchasing a fishing license, but only for that day. All other fishing regulations, such as limits and means of take, still apply.

Stimulus Program Information

The coronavirus relief bill passed March 27 by Congress provides payments to individuals who make less than $100,000 a year. The payment total $1,200 for each adult who makes $75,000 or less, plus $500 per child. The payment amounts decrease if you make between $75,000 and $99,000. The income is determined by your latest tax return filed with the IRS. It will use your 2019 taxes if you have filed them already, or your 2018 taxes if you haven't. The Department of Homeland Security has set the new deadline for REAL ID enforcement as Oct. 1, 2021. Acting Secretary Chad Wolf issued the following statement on the deadline extension:

Gov. Steve Sisolak made Nevada one of the first states to enter a state of partial lockdown last Tuesday as an emergency step meant to stem the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus, enforcing a closure of the state’s casinos and urging other non-essential businesses to close their doors for 30 days.

The Carson City Clerk and Recorder’s Office will continue to record all documents that are received electronically or by mail, as well as, answer telephone calls and emails.

YERINGTON — Lyon County officials have determined a course of action to address the issue of non-essential businesses that fail to comply with the directive.

CARSON CITY — In an effort to bring relief to Nevada motorists affected by the closures related to COVID-19, Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak and the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles have issued an automatic 90-day extension for expiring driver’s licenses, vehicle registrations and other DMV documents. Governor Sisolak signed a Declaration of Emergency authorizing the extension March 20.
