50 out of 56 businesses in compliance during second Nevada OSHA visit

Nevada notes higher rates of face covering compliance during statewide July 6 observations

OSHA: 84 percent face mask compliance in northern Nevada, 66 percent in southern Nevada

Only 49 percent of businesses complying with mask mandate, Governor warns of 'swift and decisive actions'
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 07/03/2020 - 12:22pmToday, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak issued a statement in regards to reported compliance numbers from the Division of Industrial Relations Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Of the 204 businesses observed by the State on July 2, 49 percent complied with the face covering requirements. Fifty percent of bars and restaurant bar areas visited by officials were found to be in compliance, with the remaining establishments including automobile sales and maintenance, gyms, hair and nail establishments, and tattoo shops demonstrating a 61 percent rate of compliance.

Carson Built Customs, located at 220 E. William St., specializes in custom powder coatings, metal works, CNC fabrication as well as custom installations for automobiles and motorcycles. No exact date has been set for when the business opens. Thomas Purnal, owner of Carson Built Customs, said he plans on opening to the public by mid-July.
Carson City Supervisors to discuss new residential building permits, diesel tax amendments

Lyon County implements diesel tax, votes down new subdivision

The County Manager and Comptroller have recommended the budget with no salary increases and a projected 6.6% ending fund balance which is lower than the 16.67% authorized by Nevada Revised Statutes.
The County Manager also recommended that the Board not fund any of the 35.8 positions requested by the various departments including:

Carson City Fire Department knock down brush fire in area of Arrowhead and Hytech Drive
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 02/20/2020 - 5:21pmCarson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called late Thursday afternoon to a brush fire reported near the 3200 block of Arrowhead Drive and Hytech Drive in northeast Carson City. The fire was quickly extinguished and no structures appear to have been damaged.
