NDOT announces overnight road closures for State Route 28 June 17 - 18
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Thu, 06/06/2019 - 1:54pmOvernight road closures will take place on State Route 28 south of Incline Village June 17 and 18 as the Nevada Department of Transportation places final roadway striping as part of installation of the State Route 28 shared used path.
Both directions of SR 28 will be closed between Lakeshore Boulevard in southern Incline Village and the U.S. 50 junction from 8 p.m.-6:30 a.m. nightly June 17 and 18 as final roadway striping is placed on the highway.
'Community Conversation' held tonight, discussing issues facing Carson City

UWNNS's Listening Tour will ask and listen to community members throughout different northern Nevada counties. Information collected will be used to inform and guide future work. The two ways to participate are through an online survey and a series of community conversations.

Final season of path construction along State Route 28 at Tahoe begins this month

Project completion is anticipated for early July and will be announced prior to opening.

We will hike on the Clear Creek Connector Trail that intersects with the longer Clear Creek Trail. Both trails built by Carson Valley Trails Association. Meet 8:00 am at Hwy 50 Park-and-ride just west of Hwy 50/US395 interchange. We will carpool three miles to the Golf Course Drive parking area near the trailhead. Dogs are not allowed on this hike.
Rain and melting snow prompt Flood Advisory for Carson City, Carson Valley, Lyon regions

Closure and delay report for greater Carson City area on Tuesday, Feb. 5
Submitted by Brett Fisher on Tue, 02/05/2019 - 8:13amNevada Gov. Steve Sisolak has ordered all state offices in Carson City, Douglas and Washoe counties to open at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The Carson City Mayor and City Manager have ordered a 10 a.m. delayed opening for municipal offices.
Carson City schools are closed today. There will be no student activities, including after-school and evening programs, practices or contests. No school services such as transportation, nutrition or student health.
All Carson Valley schools in Douglas County are operating on a 90-minute delay.
Douglas County lake schools are closed.

School district spokesman Dan Davis said the professional development day will start on schedule; although weather will continue to be monitored for hazardous travel conditions.

Join us on this 3-mile round-trip snowshoe trek around Spooner Lake that will take us through pine and aspen forests as we circle around the lake. Large flocks of Chickadees are often seen. Estimated time of activity is 5 hours.
Meet at Hwy 50 Park-and-Ride just west of Hwy 50/US395 interchange. We will carpool to Spooner Lake. Parking inside the park at Spooner Lake requires a $10.00 per vehicle entrance fee (exact cash amount required), or annual or senior park pass. By carpooling, the costs are reduced.

Rain will continue throughout the morning, changing to snow showers later this afternoon, which has prompted a Winter Weather Advisory for the lower valley areas such as Carson City and Carson Valley. Forecasters urge motorists not to travel into the Sierra today as several feet of heavy snow will impact roadways and travel.
