This time it’s to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?” One way to observe the MLK Day of Service is to participate in the Clothing and Food Drive for homeless veterans. Drop-off locations are at FISH on East Long Street and the RSVP office on Northgate. The Healthy Community Coalition’s monthly cooking class and demo features Mediterranean food and is open to all comers. You’ll find the ice rink open at 10 a.m.

NDOT reopens Kingsbury Grade

Nevada Department of Transportation has announced that State Route 207/Kingsbury Grade, the main connection between South Lake Tahoe and the Carson Valley is back open after temporary repairs were made to stabilize the sink hole.

Telegraph Street in downtown Carson City appeared the week before Thanksgiving, notifying customers that the Nevada Day Store was closed and would be reopening inside the Carson City Visitors Bureau (CCVB), located at 716 N. Carson Street.
Silver Stage Pantry Holiday Schedule

Normally, the Pantry is open Monday through Friday from 10am until 4pm. However, the Pantry will close at noon on Friday December 16th, and at noon on Monday, December 19th. The Pantry will also be closed on Tuesday, December 27th from noon to 2:30pm for a delivery.

The Arlington Square Ice Rink is temporarily closed due to some storm damage sustained over the weekend, but the great people of the Parks and Recreation Department are working hard to have it up and running soon. Enjoy an evening with the girls at Bella Fiore tonight. A Sip and Shop event featuring local vendors begins at 5 p.m. If you’re interested in the theater, consider attending the board meeting for the Proscenium Players tonight.

Open Auditions for Proscenium Players production of 'Bus Stop'

Interested actors are invited to audition on December 9 or December 12 at 6:30pm or on December 11 at 2:00pm at the Brewery Arts Center in the 1864 Ballroom. Performances are slated for weekends from March 24 to April 2, 2017.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the scripts and from sides. To request sides for your audition, please email ppicarsoncity@yahoo.com. All actors selected are expected to join Proscenium Players, Inc. as members.

Nevada Demographer: Growth projections higher for Washoe County, steady for Carson City, Northern Nevada
