Restaurants in Carson City will host Valentine’s Day specials on Friday. The Carson City Celtic Music series will be at the Brewery Arts Center on Saturday featuring Fortunate Strangers. Combined with live music and comedy at the Carson Nugget, the Carson City region is in store for a busy three days. Read on for more information.

Happenings around the capital city include a cardio and strength connection class offered through Carson Tahoe Health and Wellness, Valentine-themed activities at Carson Mall, a Muscle Powered hike at Clear Creek Trail, Pilates at the Brewery Arts Center, the second of three Carson City school zone modification meetings and more.

Midweek events include a Dayton chamber breakfast with the founder of the Desert Pigs cleanup nonprofit group. Plus there's the first of 5 days of Valentine-themed festivities that begins at Carson Mall; an open house at Bethlehem Lutheran School, a CASA information hour, a Carson City School District meeting regarding proposed middle school zone modification. Plus there's a yoga class, Salsa dancing at Yaple's Ballroom, country and pop dancing at Carson Lanes, a safety workshop for women and more.
Gifts, Chocolate, Jewelry and More, Oh My: Valentine-themed activities featured at Carson Mall Feb. 12-16
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Thu, 01/30/2020 - 4:40pmCarson Mall, 1223 South Carson Street, in Carson City will host a series of Valentine events, Feb. 12-16, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The mall will feature vendors, free Valentine Photos by Magical Moments, and chocolate dipped strawberries.
From Feb. 12 through Feb. 14, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., visit inside the mall and make a Valentine for a loved one. Then, make another Valentine for a Senior that will be delivered to local retirement homes.
On Feb. 15 Carson Mall will host Family Bingo Night. Proceeds will benefit Carson High School’s Safe and Sober Grad Night.

Events include the Nevada Artists Association New Year’s Show, and there’s a historical Curry family presentation at the Nevada State Museum. Famed country rock band I See Hawks in L.A. perform at the Historic Silver City Schoolhouse on Saturday. Combined with live music at Bella Vita Bistro, there’s plenty to do and see around the state capitol. Read on for more.

The Billow family have been part of our community for 17 years and has been an influence in the community from Dennis Billow playing Santa and his family serving as helpers for community events and also volunteering with various local organizations.

Bingo night fundraiser held Saturday for local boy in critical condition following vehicle accident
Submitted by Isaiah Burrows on Fri, 06/21/2019 - 11:58amA Family Bingo Night fundraiser for a local boy, Bryar Phelps, who was injured in a vehicle accident and is now in critical care, is scheduled for Saturday, June 22 at 5 p.m. in the Carson Mall Shopping Center.
All proceeds from the event will go toward Bryar and his family.

$20 gets six cards per game with a total of 10 games in the book. $5 for an extra three cards for all the games.
Bingo Dabbers will be $2. Refreshments will be available.
Prizes include gift cards, gift baskets, movie theater tickets, big ticket items.
Rolling in the Knead: Cookie dough sales raise whopping $9,200 for Carson City school
Submitted by editor on Wed, 11/07/2018 - 10:05amCARSON CITY — Eagle Valley Middle School went ‘dough to dough’ in the Parent Teacher Organization’s annual cookie dough fundraiser. In total, the gross sales were equivalent to more than $23,000. The school earns about 40 percent of total gross sales, bringing the net total to $9,200. A total of 1,547 units were sold.

Carson High returning students are invited to the Senator Kick-off this morning to get their fill of back-to-school updates. Families will love the Movie in the Park; bring a blanket or chairs and come prepared to enjoy ‘Coco.’ Three days of high-flying fun begins today at Heritage Park in Gardnerville as the Splash Dogs competition gets underway. You will always find live music around town on Fridays, but during the Jazz and Beyond Festival, it seems like music is everywhere.

Live music, comedy, and karaoke are just some of your nightlife options. It’s family BINGO and Chili night at Carson Middle School: get some grub, maybe win one of the great prizes, and help the CMS Band Program raise funds. Dayton has a BINGO night of its own. Head to Dayton High School to get in on the action. It’s opening night for the Proscenium Players. Their production of ‘Love Letters’ runs for one weekend only, so get your tickets early. Stay safe out there, and have a great weekend.

There’s somewhere to volunteer, somewhere to eat some fundraising pancakes, join in an Asian New Year Lion Dance Parade, Beer Crawl in downtown Carson City, and get your Zumba on. I think the eclectic mix of happenings is one of my favorite things about our corner of the world. Whether it’s the International Film Festival, the Vagina Monologues, or telescope viewing at the WNC Observatory: you can’t tell me there is nothing to do.

A bowling tournament and the Comstock Shootout Soccer tournament have the hotels and motels busting at the seams. Celebrate Earth Day with Muscle Powered by making a small piece of Carson City that much cleaner; the trash meets at 8 a.m. and leaves you plenty of time to enjoy the day. Saturday Bingo Raises Money for Scholarships

The Carson Middle School Parent Teachers Association will hold its annual Family Bingo and Chili Night fundraiser, set for Friday night, March 22, 6 p.m. at the middle school's Cafetorium on King Street. Want to know how popular this event is? Well, last year more than 500 attended.
