Youth Theatre Carson City to hold auditions Saturday for Disney’s Alice In Wonderland, Jr.

Youth Theatre Carson City will hold auditions this Saturday for Disney’s "Alice in Wonderland, Jr." The show will run four performances, April 8-10 in the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center.

We are looking for actors, singers, and dancers grades K-12, who will be cast to play all the classic characters including Alice, The White Rabbit, The Mad Hatter, The Cheshire Cat, and of course, The evil Queen of Hearts – plus a host of other colorful characters.

Monthly West Coast Swing Dance

CHS hosts annual Reflections Art Contest

Judging for the annual PTA Reflections Art Contest held at Carson High School began Thursday and runs through today.

The nationwide event, sponsored by the national Parent Teacher Association, is now in its 47th year and strives to “support student success and serve as a valuable tool for building strong partnerships in your school community,” according to the national PTA web site at www.pta.org.

Sierra Lutheran Hosts Mini Cheer Camp

The Sierra Lutheran High School Cheerleaders are hosting their annual Mini Falcon Cheer Camp (for boys and girls grades K-5) on Saturday, February 6th, from 1:00-4:30pm. Performance at a Girls Varsity Game is included in the program (Game starts at 4:00pm; the attendee’s family will be admitted at no cost). Students will learn cheers, a band dance, jumps, and participate in a craft. Cost is $35 per student ($25 for each additional sibling), and includes poms for girls, megaphones for boys, and a snack). The Nevada Division of the Pony Express Association keeps history alive and you are welcome to attend their monthly meeting at Grandma Hattie’s tonight. A lot of people will tell you it’s never a good idea to play with fire, but for the folks of Controlled Burn, fire can be art.
