Avoid injury and improve your strength and fitness for on and off the slopes. All winter sport enthusiasts in the area are invited to participate.

The program starts Monday, Oct. 17, 2016.

February means it's time to Share the Love. Current Kaia Girls can bring their friends any Saturday in February. And if you don't know a Kaia Girl, come anyway. We'd love to introduce you to our program. Open to women of all ages and fitness levels, KaiaFIT classes are designed to meet you exactly where you are. Our saturday workouts start at 8am and alternate between Power Hour (a full body workout focusing on function and muscle confusion) or I Kan Dance (our cardio-filled dance fitness hour).

Kaia Red Party - End of BRIK Celebration

KaiaFIT Minden and Carson will be celebrating the end of their six-week BRIK session with a Kaia Red Party at El Charro Avitia, on Saturday, February 13th at 6pm. Please join Theresa Simmons, Wednesday Evenings at 5:30 pm, at the Carson Tahoe Health and Wellness Center for an easy flow Yoga class. This is a beginners class with some challenges which offers: simple postures and movements to strengthen, gentle stretching with stability, balance poses incorporated into a sequence of standing postures, core strengthening, and alignment to ease the body of complaints, with the use of props and the assistance of the instructor to align. This class invites new Yoga Students and those who have done yoga for a while who would like to learn to practice yoga with stability.

Cooperative Extension offers ‘Gardening Smarter as We Mature’

This is a 6 week class that teaches movement fundamental to yoga postures - kind of a pre-yoga yoga class! Learn about your core (what the heck does that mean, anyway?), how to move more efficiently in order to prevent injury, and ways to ease pain and stress in your body.

You will learn how to move in and out of basic poses, and learn a few classic introductory yoga postures. There will be opportunity to modify all poses and movements based on the needs of your body – learn how to adapt yoga to what your body needs.
