CARSON CITY — In order to deliver on the objective of giving mountain bikers a true backcountry experience on world-class singletrack that challenges riders as much as it inspires and rewards, and allowing for extra snowmelt time in a potentially record-setting Sierra Nevada winter, Epic Rides announced a date change of the Carson City Off-Road from June 14-16 to June 28-30.

CARSON CITY — The Carson Nugget Casino Hotel celebrates its 65th anniversary with the grand opening of its new restaurant Angelina’s Bistro, a birthday cake and champagne toast, and the premiere of Casino Boss, episode 2 on Tuesday, March 12, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. While no one can truly know the future, the year 2019 is going to be full of notable anniversaries commemorating events significant to history. Some we celebrate, others we mourn or memorialize. Some are remembered fondly, others with grief.

Here is a look at some of the more profound anniversaries we will observe this year:

A to Zen has been a Carson City staple for the past decade. While they’re mostly known for their assortment of vintage finds, their large record and book collection, handmade gifts, costumes, and what may be the largest collection of knick-knacks in Carson City, they’ve also been engaging in community activities for years.

Every tattoo artist dreams of one day opening their own shop, said Tony Jackson, and now he’s done just that.

Rice Street Tattoo, aptly named for its location on Rice Street in Carson City, will officially open Tuesday, Jan. 1.

As we look back on 2018, staff members and correspondents at Tahoe Onstage select their favorite concerts and explain why. They had a lot to choose from, as the online music publication covered more than 100 shows, providing previews and reviews alike.

Carson City has made the Top 25 in voting to be considered for the Levitt AMP Award, matching grant funds provided by the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation that help bring free, family-friendly outdoor concerts to communities nationwide.

Tickets are moving fast for Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s “Wild and Swingin’ Holiday Party!” at Casino Fandango in Carson City on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

Presented by the Brewery Arts Center, the highly anticipated event will be the first concert at the casino’s new Grand Ballroom, which held its official ribbon-cutting in early November. The show begins at 7 p.m.

The Carson City School District Orchestra Program performs the second of four school-year concerts for the general public on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018 at the Community Center with free admission.

Under the direction of Dr. Brian Fox, the CCSD Orchestras is a blooming school music program in Carson City. Come to the Holiday Concert to hear Holiday favorites, as well as Mozart, Brahms, and music from Harry Potter.

The future of the Carson City summer outdoor concert series through the Brewery Arts Center comes down to votes, and today, Tuesday is the deadline to make them count.

The Levitt AMP Carson City Summer Concert Series has slipped to 11th place as of Monday night, which has made for a last minute plea from the BAC brass to make a citywide call out to bring the concert series back for a fourth season.

The Levitt AMP Carson City Summer Concert Series is in jeopardy of not being funded for a fourth consecutive season, the Brewery Arts Center (BAC) has said, slipping to ninth place in online voting.
