Casino Fandango unveils new ballroom with ribbon cutting ceremony
The new ballroom of Carson City’s Casino Fandango was unveiled in a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday evening, complete with champagne, prime rib, a catered buffet dinner, and a live band, in typical Fandango style.
The addition was a long time coming, said owner Court Cardinal. “I’ve had to turn away dozens of banquets over the years due to size constraints.”
“Carson City desperately needs this,” said one event attendee.
The new ballroom can fit between 300 and 500 people, depending on the event.
Concerts can fit the maximum amount of people with standing room only and a stage, whereas banquets, weddings, or any kind of sit down table event would be closer to 300.
They broke ground on the addition in February, said Cardinal, and finished at the end of October.
So far they’ve already had one meeting held in the new space, and over 40 other people and groups have already booked use of the ballroom out until March.
Mayor Bob Crowell, owner Court Cardinal, and Carson City Supervisor Lori Bagwell assisted with the ribbon cutting.
