Not so, as the Apaches used some aggressive baserunning to build a two-run advantage. But one swing of DJ Peters' bat swung the momentum in the Wildcats' favor in the seventh inning, driving WNC of Carson City to a 6-4 nonconference victory in the first of four games between the clubs.
Peters' laser shot over the left-field fence for a three-run homer completed the scoring, helping the Wildcats end a two-game losing streak.

As in previous years, Christmas trees can be placed curbside on your regular trash collection day beginning Jan. 4 or taken to one of the drop-off locations.

No, it's not really Santa under a rainbow but it is a picture of a simple hard working business owner who, like countless other business owners, makes this city work as part of the free enterprise system. This man is out before dawn cleaning and preparing the property where he runs his business and is still at work long after dark every day throughout the year.

She disagrees.
“I don’t feel like,” she begins, but pauses to cover her 5-year-old daughter’s ears. “I don’t feel like I’m dying,” she continues. “Medically, I get it. But I refuse that diagnosis.”
One technician put it to her bluntly. “You have an expiration date,” he told her.
“I laughed. I do have an expiration date, we all do,” McGarry said. “But that’s up to God. He has the final answer.”

As one who has lived in Carson City most of my life, I have learned through the years that one day the weather can be gorgeous and then the next day: Bam, the countryside is covered with a deep layer of snow.
And once the snow arrives, it is followed by ice and cold weather, which will normally be with us into the month of March.
