Carson City sheriff’s weekend arrest log: Woman jailed for battery after kicking deputy
A 23-year-old Mound House woman was arrested Saturday on a gross misdemeanor charge of battery on a peace officer after allegedly spitting and kicking a deputy in the chest while intoxicated at the hospital, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies and the Carson City Fire Department were called to a bar in the 2400 block of Highway 50 East at 8:58 p.m. regarding an intoxicated woman. Officers made contact with bar patrons who stated they had found the woman outside the bar severely intoxicated.
A deputy identified the woman through her driver’s license. The woman refused to answer questions and spoke with slurred speech. The fire department took the woman to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center and the officer followed because the woman had become combative, the arrest report states.
At the hospital the woman refused to answer questions and began calling the deputy derogatory names. The deputy made several attempts to retrieve information for a family member to come and pick her up. Instead the woman became belligerent and had to be handcuffed to the bed at the doctor’s request, according to the arrest report.
The woman then began to bang her head on the side railing of the hospital bed and kicked a nurse in the chest. The nurse declined to press charges.
The suspect continued kicking, banging on the railing and then began spitting at nurses and the deputy. The deputy attempted to control the woman and was kicked twice in the chest. She was medically discharged and taken into custody at 10:21 p.m. for battery on a police officer. Bail: $2,500.
— A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 1:56 a.m. in the 200 block of East Long Street on misdemeanor charges of domestic battery and disorderly conduct.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the residence where the victim said the man was destroying their residence and when he went outside, he tried to force his way back into the home by attempting to kick in the door.
Deputies arrived and observed the suspect outside the home kicking the fence. Due to the man acting violently, he was detained. Another deputy made contact with those inside the home. Officers found a television shattered on the floor along with multiple other items thrown around the house. The victim and three others were inside attempting to clean up the mess.
The officer asked the victim to explain what happened. The victim stated a group of friends were at the home drinking and that the suspect “drank far too much” and began yelling. The victim said the man then threw a broom on the ground and threw his radio against the wall. She said a friend tried to calm him down and that is when the suspect pushed the friend and threw his television to the ground, then tearing the TV apart after he had thrown it, the arrest report states.
The victim said the man was asked to leave the apartment multiple times but he refused, and was acting violent enough that one of the friends locked him out of the home where he tried to force his way back in by kicking the door, the arrest report states.
Officers spoke with the man the suspect had allegedly pushed. He told the officer the suspect did push him, but refused to tell the officer any more information because he did not want the man to get into trouble. The friend refused to complete a written statement. Others completed statements and the man was arrested. At jail the suspect provided a preliminary breath test with a .233. Bail: $3,379.
