Forest Service plans include pile burning in Little Valley and Clear Creek south of Carson City

Among those planned pile burns include 102 acres in Little Valley near the area of last year's catastrophic wildfire in Washoe Valley.

One of the first things he noticed driving around the area was the traffic nightmare. After one miserable attempt to drive eight miles in an hour, it was time to put the car away and rely on public transportation. It was clean, on schedule, and very reasonable at five dollars per person for unlimited rides.
WNC to Start New School Year Tobacco Free

When students arrive for the fall semester on Monday, Aug. 28, WNC’s three campuses will be tobacco-free. WNC actually became tobacco free in advance of the semester, banning tobacco products as of Monday.

Carson City School District improving space, energy efficiency for new school year
