Carson High School graduation: Where to Park
Submitted by editor on Sat, 05/30/2015 - 8:29amFor folks going into Carson High School’s 10 a.m. graduation ceremony today, car pooling is encouraged. Parking will be in the main parking area of the school, the tech center parking lot, the north parking lots and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints parking lot at 411 Saliman Road.
Parking is also available at Mills Park by going through Seely Loop at Saliman Road. Handicapped parking will be available toward the front entrances of the high school.

CHS Speech and Debate will be holding several fundraisers to help cover the cost of the National Tournament this June in Dallas.

Senator Square: Tuesday is ACT test for juniors; Cinderella Ball a huge smash

Freshmen, sophomores and seniors get the day off. However, proficiencies will also be given that day to some seniors.

Tickets will be also sold at the door. This community event open for fathers and girls of all ages is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday night at Carson High School.
CHS and Greenhouse Project vie to win $20,000 from certified organic food company
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 04/06/2015 - 5:27pmThe Greenhouse Project, located at Carson High School in Carson City, has entered the Seeds of Change Grant Program for an opportunity to win one of two $20,000, five $10,000 grants or ten $1,000 grants. They are asking the community to vote for their application.
The Grant Program aims to enhance the environmental, economic and social well-being of gardens, farms and communities. The grants will be awarded to organizations that help support sustainable, community-based gardening and farming programs that focus on teaching people about the food they eat and how it’s grown.

Senator Square: Mural contest winner paints 'Road to Success'

All entries were judged and the 1st place winner was Athena Favero, who received a $200 Amazon Gift Card. Second place and a $100 Amazon Gift Card went to Michael Rose. As part of the contest, Athena painted her winning design "A Senator’s Road To Success” on the hallway wall outside the GNCU branch at CHS. Students and staff are encouraged to come by and see her winning mural at Carson High School. Congratulations to our winners, and thanks to all the students who entered.

State History Day results: The Northern Nevada National History Day contest was held on March 14 at the University of Nevada, Reno and Carson High School sophomores produced fantastic results. All first place entries qualify to move on to the national contest.

CHS concert band plays alongside USAF musicians during sold out Carson City performance

Yet several CHS band and Chamber Choir students played and sang along with the USAF Concert Band and Singing Sergeants during a sold out show at the Bob Boldrick Theater inside the Carson City Community Center on Wednesday night.

Carson High's Future Health Professionals raise $350 for Carson Tahoe Cancer Foundation

The club members raised and donated $350 to go toward breast cancer research/awareness by selling breast cancer awareness lanyards at $3 each in November.
Senator Square: Proficiency testing this week at Carson High School

Students taking the proficiency tests will begin their school day at the regular time of 7:45 a.m., while those not taking the proficiencies will start their school day at 10:30 a.m. The following tests will be given on the assigned days — March 2: Math; March 3: Reading; March 4: Writing; and March 5: Science. The enchanted evening will held at Senator's Castle, Carson High School, on April 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
This community event is open to all ages of girls. One Princess from each elementary and middle school in the Carson City area will be crowned that evening, and one from a pre-school age group as well. There is no age limit for this event.

Senator Square: CHS Leadership puts 'Love Thy Community' theme to work
Submitted by editor on Sun, 02/15/2015 - 6:34amHey Carson City, the Carson High Leadership class is organizing a clean-up day at Mills Park for Thursday, Feb. 26 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. This month, Carson High Leadership is focusing on Love Thy Community.
So every week, Carson High's Student Council will be encouraging their fellow students to clean up in several different ways: they will be making posters and flyers and putting them up around the school, it will be on the announcements, and every Thursday of Friday they will be passing out a reward when they see other students cleaning up.

Submitted by editor on Sun, 02/08/2015 - 10:25amFor the last six years, Carson High School has held an alumni night at the Carson-Douglas basketball game in which alumni are recognized and celebrated. It’s a chance for alumni to come back and visit the old stomping grounds, support the Senators and a chance for us to celebrate contributions and the lives of CHS alumni. The Alumni games will be held February 13 against Douglas Tigers.
