The meeting will be on Thursday, September 14, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Bonanza Room at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William Street, Carson City.

Local artists Deborah Stevenson and Deborah Foster collaborate to bring a vibrant new exhibit, The Power of Light, to the Nevada Artists Association Gallery (NAA) Sept. 10 – Oct. 20, 2017. Offering a fresh perspective and dazzling light, this exhibit showcases popular scenes such as Death Valley, Emerald Bay, and Pyramid Lake. The public is invited to attend a free reception with refreshments from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 14 at the NAA Gallery, 449 W. King Street, Carson City. The gallery is open Tuesday – Sunday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and during wine walk.

Many of our readers have probably not heard of Warrick Dunn, former running back for Florida State University and the National Football League’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons.

Dunn had a great college career, winning a national championship with the Seminoles in 1993. He followed his college success with a very good twelve-year career in the NFL. He made the Pro Bowl three times, although his successes were overshadowed by the likes of Shaun Alexander, Adrian Peterson, and Corey Dillon.

Carson City Parks and Rec foundation donates $6,210 for rifle range restroom installation

The Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation is financially partnering with the Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Department to install a vault toilet at the Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range.

The Foundation recently donated $6,210 towards this needed project which will be used as a cash match for a Nevada Department of Wildlife Hunter Education/Shooting Range Program Grant.

Eagle Valley Middle School takes up collection for needy through Faith, Hope, Love

Students and staff at Eagle Valley Middle School (EVMS) in Carson City took up a collection on behalf of Faith, Hope, Love of Northern Nevada and Northern Nevada HotSpot to provide clothing and other necessary items for those in need, said Northern Nevada HotSpot owner Cassidy Davis, who also coordinates the efforts of Faith, Hope, Love of Northern Nevada.
