Man stopped for expired registration faces drug charge, driving on license revoked for DUI
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Fri, 12/27/2013 - 9:47amA Hawthorne, Nev. man was arrested Thursday at a Carson City casino on a felony parole and probation hold in 400 block of North Carson Street.
Clarence Jones, 30, was arrested after officers were asked to do a walkthrough of the casino because of unruly customers. On arrival the officer saw Jones, who was standing near the problem group, but was not involved with them, the arrest report states.
Carson City supervisors to take up appointments, judge pay raises, position adjustments

California man arrested on felony drug charge, admits to writing graffiti on bus stop covers

Bomb threat at Moneytree off East William Street in Carson City prompts evacuation
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Fri, 12/20/2013 - 1:38pmUPDATE: The Moneytree located in a shopping center on East William Street near the Carson City I80 freeway was evacuated as were nearby businesses and the Subway restaurant after a bomb threat was made Friday afternoon. The shopping center is now open.
According to Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Mike Cullen, the Money Tree store was searched and cleared of any explosive device. Detectives are following up with additional searches and taking photographs of the building.

Reno police: 2 dead, 2 wounded in shooting at Renown campus

Police say a victim died and the shooter, a male, is dead, his body found in the third floor of the medical building at 1500 E. 2nd Street. Two more are being treated for injuries.

Grass Valley woman jailed on DUI, eluding after chase from Truckee ends near Verdi

Wendy N. Parish, 23, faces criminal charges of DUI drugs, driving without a valid driver’s license, and attempting to elude a police officer. Bail is $25,350 and she remains in custody as of Saturday afternoon, said NHP Trooper Chuck Allen.

Many of you remember Carson City having a downtown. Some of you are new to our area within the last 30 years, and some are of a generation who grew up here and only know what you have been familiar with. Douglas authorities look for children, mother suspected in abduction

According to reports, Kathryn Ann Moore, 44, of Wellington, was scheduled to appear in District Court for the scheduled child exchange of Patricia Brite Read, 5, and William Jesse Moore, 2, to their father Richard Read of Gardnerville, who has joint custody of the children.
Kathryn did not appear in court for this exchange. Attempts to contact Kathryn have been unsuccessful and a recent visit to her home has indicated that she has left with the children.
