Arrest made in Nov. 7 West Carson City vandalism spree
A 21-year-old Carson City man already in jail was booked Tuesday on three gross misdemeanor charges of property damage to a school or religious facility. The charges are related to a Nov. 7, vandalism spree on the west side of Carson City.
Vandals spray painted racist and profanity-laced words on several homes, vehicles, businesses, two churches, the Brewery Arts Center and the Carson City School District's Gleason Building on West Musser Street. The two churches vandalized were the Carson City First United Methodist Church on North Division and the First Presbyterian Church of Carson City.
The charges were filed Dec. 9 as part of a warrant through the Carson City District Attorney's Office. Carson City Bail: $2,500.
Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said more arrests are forthcoming.
