Doors are open at 6:30PM for a social half hour then the meeting will be called to order at 7:00PM.
We are incredibly excited to have as our guest speaker for this meeting, the newly elected Assembly Minority Leader, Assemblyman Jim Wheeler of Assembly District 39.
Refreshments will be provided and we encourage anyone interested in meeting your local party and public officials to come out and join us.

Open House, Dog Parks Discussion at the Historic Wungnema House on Sept. 24

The Foundation for Carson City Parks & Recreation (FCCPR), is hosting an Open House at the Wungnema House located in Mills Park, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2017. Besides being a chance to learn about this historic building, this will also be an opportunity to discuss and review possible improvements to dog park areas in Fuji Park and Sonoma Park with FCCPR officers. Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (Parks Dept.) staff have prepared a list, with preliminary cost estimates, for improvements to dog areas at Fuji and Sonoma Parks.

2017 Nevada recycled art contest underway

Entrants must be Nevada residents and projects must be composed of used recyclable materials. Submission of an entry form and photos of artwork are due by October 22, 2017.

Approximately $1.2 million in funding is available for the 2018 fiscal year. Applications are due by October 26, 2017.

Phyllis Anker Bendure March 7, 1919 - August 11, 2017

She was born in Reno, Nevada on March 7, 1919, a third generation Nevadan whose grandparents emigrated to Lovelock from Denmark and established Anker Ranch in 1877. That ranch is still in the family today.

The school enthusiastically welcomes Dr. Tami Seddon, a Carson Valley native, as their new principal following the retirement of Reverend Juls Clausen. Dr. Seddon, a UC Davis and Stanford alumna, has been with the school since its inception as both a teacher and academic dean.
