Eagle Scout project brings volunteers, improvements to Carson River Park

Jacob worked closely with Gregg Berggren of Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department, to plan and carry out this project.
Volunteers turn out for cottonwood wrapping at Carson City's East Silver Saddle Ranch

Our department wants to extend our heartfelt appreciation to our small but mighty group of 4 who attended Saturday's cottonwood wrapping. We successfully wrapped 25 trees in about a 90 minute time span.

Carson City's NJROTC team joins in mass clean-up of East Silver Saddle Ranch

East Silver Saddle Ranch Cottonwood Wrapping
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 09/12/2018 - 7:16amSeptember 22nd is the first day of fall and National Public Lands Day. To celebrate both of these events, we are hosting a cottonwood wrapping event at East Silver Saddle Ranch!
Our amazing staff will be providing a lesson on river ecology and talk about the importance of cottonwood wrapping.
We will be providing gloves and all the materials and information necessary to correctly wrap cottonwoods.
The event will be held from 9 AM- 12 PM. We are looking for 30 volunteers. If you are interested please email the Volunteer Coordinator- Chelsea Kincheloe at ckincheloe@carson.org
