Caitlin Jemma is a musician born and raised in Virginia City. She has been touring the globe for several years now, spreading her message of love and music.

Jemma recently completed a European tour, and now she's back in the Silver State. She was scheduled to perform at Piper's Opera House tonight for the West Coast Songwriter's Showcase in Virginia City, until Mother Nature stepped in.

Lights, camera, action! The Second annual Jukebox Film Festival begins today at the Carson City Community Center. Two full days of features, documentaries, and short films with music as the uniting theme will be shown at the Carson City Community Center: 30 unique titles representing 29 different filmmakers from countries around the world. Blood Drum Spirit, a jazz band with an African influence, is the focus of one of those films and will be performing for free at Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint this evening.

Tahoe South extends summer with festivals, live music and lakefront laser show

According to the calendar, summer is coming to a close but South Lake Tahoe is refusing to acknowledge it. Tahoe South will host a magnitude of events extending the season from Labor Day into October with entertainment, culinary festivals, music, outdoor recreation, competitions and a lakefront laser show.

King St. The concert was originally planned for Comma Courtyard, but the performers want to present the event in a comfortable and healthy atmosphere.

Managing weeds, particularly with chemicals, is more complicated than most people realize.

A neighbor was spraying cheatgrass recently. He didn’t realize that with the cheatgrass already going to seed and turning brown, his use of chemicals was ineffective and costly in time and money. The seeds will still spread, and he will still have to mow or weed-eat the dead plant residue.
