Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include Polar Express train rides, Touched By Angels hosts a garden craft show on Saturday, a night photo shoot at the Nevada State museum, Rob Sherwood headlines the Carson Comedy Club at the Carson Nugget, 'Matilda the Musical' and more!

The first week of November marches along with sunshine to continue into the foreseeable future. Events ahead for this Thursday include a regular meeting of the Carson City Board of Supervisors, a Mammovan stop at Nevada Health Centers, a Muscle Powered afternoon hike, and an evening with local artist Rebecca Fox at Artsy Fartsy Gallery. Good morning Carson City and happy Saturday! Today we’ll see a high in the mid 80s and a low in the mid to low 40s, which to me sounds like Fall is right around the corner!

Heading into the weekend, there’s plenty of activities around the Carson City region to help the next three days breeze by. Events include an artists fair at Carson Mall, the 60th annual camel and ostrich races in Virginia City, a memorial run in Carson City, the 28th annual Oktoberfest in Gardnerville, a Veterans Resource Fair at Carson Nugget, history walks at Mormon Station Park, live comedy and more.

The third annual Friends of Coach Blaver Memorial Fundraiser to benefit the Northern Nevada Alzheimer’s Association will take place Sunday, September 8, 2019, from 4 - 7PM, at the Westside Pour House & Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery parking lot, 110 Telegraph St. Carson City, NV 89703.

Heading into Thursday, August 15, 2019 we can expect hot weather to continue with high temperatures near 100. Among events for the day, there will be a wreath remembrance ceremony for fallen Carson City law enforcement officers at the sheriff's office, a Muscle Powered morning hike, art showings, and a meeting of the Status of Women in Nevada group at the Carson Nugget. As part of the Jazz and Beyond music festival, there will be an outdoor "Woodstock Remembered" concert at Comma Coffee and a music presentation, "All About that Bass" by Scot Marshall and Friends at the Nevada State Museum.

We are please to announce the artist reception for Ms. Karen Barrenechea here at Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery in Carson City on August 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. Light appetizers will be available and the wine room will be open to offer wines, bottled beers, and water. As we begin to round out the work week heading into Thursday, July 18, 2019, we're looking at the same amount of sun with a daytime high around 90. Not bad for the middle of July. Hello Carson City. It is Thursday, June 13, 2019. After last night's thunderstorms that shook around the capital city we're looking at plenty of sunshine today with a daytime high around 86. Activities lined up include workshops, an anniversary party and showing at Artsy Fartsy art gallery, Food Truck Thursday at Mills Park, a Kiwanis Club meeting and Chamber annual meeting at The Martin Hotel, Cruise Night at Bully's Sports Bar, live music outdoors at Living the Good Life and more. Carson Animal Services Initiative would like to thank everyone who joined us on May 18 for our annual Woofs, Wine and Whiskers wine tasting event. Once again people came together to help animals in need, and we are grateful!

The Capital City Arts Initiative presents an exhibition, "The Lay of the Land," by artist Fred Howland in the Community Center’s Sierra Room, 851 E William Street, Carson City. The exhibition runs now through June 30, 2019. CCAI will host a reception for the artist on Friday, March 29, 5-7pm in the Sierra Room, and the artist will give a brief talk about his photography at 5:30 p.m.

As an artist and jewelry maker, Denise Jenkins keeps an eye on the fashion world.

“In January, I’ll look at the colors of the year,” she said. “I look at the New York scene.”
