Good morning Carson City and happy Saturday! Today we’ll see a high in the mid 80s and a low in the mid to low 40s, which to me sounds like Fall is right around the corner!

We’ve got a ton of great events today and tomorrow, so check them out below:

Carson City is a very special place and, as the city continues to grow and prosper, many are looking to relocate here for a myriad of reasons.

Through the years, Carson City has changed. There have been good times and there have been times that, as Thomas Paine wrote, “have tried men’s souls.” We’ve lost some historic and iconic structures but have bounced back in the good times. The biggest recent changes occurred in 2016 with the reimagining of the downtown core that continues today.

Home and Garden Craft Show, Saturday September 14 from 10am to 4pm, sponsored by Touched By Angels, 205 E John Street, Carson City.

Come and help us celebrating our 8th year. See the beautiful creations of 25 local artisans, with metal work, bird houses, local honey, jewelry and much more. Join our 150 member-plus artists organization Nevada Artists Association and show in our Autumn Members Show. Show change is 9/7 from 10am to 1pm. The Autumn show runs from 9/8 to 10/18. Hang around for the wine walk noon to 4pm, and then an artist's reception featuring LaVonne Tulip Vasik and Dana Childs.

Heading into the weekend, there’s plenty of activities around the Carson City region to help the next three days breeze by. Events include an artists fair at Carson Mall, the 60th annual camel and ostrich races in Virginia City, a memorial run in Carson City, the 28th annual Oktoberfest in Gardnerville, a Veterans Resource Fair at Carson Nugget, history walks at Mormon Station Park, live comedy and more.

The 2019 Silver State Art Festival is the third annual gathering in Carson City of award-winning gourd artists, painters, photographers, wood, glass and metal artists and from all over the Southwest. The festival runs Sept. 13-15 at Fuji Exhibit Hall, Park & Pavilion in Carson City.

Moving into Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019, there's another chance for thunderstorms headed our way and then a bit of a cool down going into the weekend. Looking around the capital city Thursday there's a meeting of the Carson City Board of Supervisors, auditions for V&T Railway's Polar Express, art showings, a host of activities at the Carson City Library, a Muscle Powered morning hike and more.

Heading into midweek, Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019 and there's a chance of thunderstorms around the capital city with a cool down expected for the weekend. Looking ahead there's a new writer's group meeting — all aspiring wordsmiths welcome, Wheeled Food Wednesday at the Brewery Arts Center, art demonstrations and more. Enjoy the day.

CARSON CITY — The Beatles Flashback is coming to the Brewery Art Center’s performance hall on Sept. 28, 2019 at 7 p.m. to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Abbey Road, which was originally released Sept. 26, 1969. Come by the BAC to hear some of your favorite Beatles hits as we celebrate 50 years of the Fab Four.

Going into Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, we're looking at sunshine and temperatures in the low 90s. Events around the capital city include a morning walk, evening hike and a bike ride with Muscle Powered, a scary makeup demonstration at the Brewery Arts Center and the 1946 version of "The Postman Always Rings Twice," presented by the Carson City Classic Cinema Club. CARSON CITY — As part of its mission to foster a “greener” Nevada, the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection’s Recycling Program is excited to partner with The Venetian Resort Las Vegas to promote awareness about the importance of recycling through this year’s “Wearable Recyclables” statewide art contest.

Carson Mall will host its first Artists and Makers Fair this Saturday, Sept. 7. Come one and all for art showings and live demonstrations of artists work throughout the day at this all ages family event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Heading into Monday, Labor Day 2019, we're looking at continued sunny skies, with daytime highs in the low 90s. There's no better place than Virginia City for a parade, and the Comstock continues to honor those who use elbow grease to keep the gears of our great American way grinding. Thank you. Other activities include a Tahoe beach cleanup, art showings, swing dancing and an interfaith picnic at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Carson City, where folks of all religious stripes come together in fellowship and kindness. The third annual Friends of Coach Blaver Memorial Fundraiser to benefit the Northern Nevada Alzheimer’s Association will take place Sunday, September 8, 2019, from 4 - 7PM, at the Westside Pour House & Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery parking lot, 110 Telegraph St. Carson City, NV 89703.

Heading into Labor Day weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next four days, which include guided tours at the Nevada State Museum, movie showings at Mills and Schulz Ranch Park, a school supply car cruise and Bingo fundraiser at the Carson Mall, trash pickup at Lake Tahoe, a Rolling Stones tribute band at Carson Nugget, Virginia City’s Labor Day Parade and more!

Heading into Thursday, August 29, 2019 and we're ready and due for the upcoming three-day holiday weekend ahead. Looking around the Carson City area for Thursday there's art showings, a Muscle Powered hike, a Partnership Carson City training and lunch and then a vigil to recognize and prevent opioid overdose and more.

Silver City Labor Day Weekend Rummage Sale! On Saturday, August 31 from 8 am to 3 pm in the Silver City Park there will be a town rummage sale to raise funds for the Comstock Residents Association.

The Levitt AMP concerts are over but Wheeled Food Wednesdays are still rolling through each week to the Brewery Art Center to bring great food to the Carson City community. Wheeled Food Wednesday takes place on the BAC campus parking lot, 511 West King Street from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

If you could rename the seasons in Northern Nevada, it might go something like this. Ski Season, Construction Season, Burning Man, and Nevada Day. Burning Man season is here! Soon you will start seeing art cars, buses, RVs, bike racks galore, and those people who call themselves Burners.

Marching forward to the midweek, Wednesday, August 28, 2019 will continue to bring sunny skies with a chance of isolated thunderstorms around the capital city. Ahead for the day includes NNDA's Business Edge breakfast at Carson Valley Inn, A "Lunch and Learn" workshop at Carson Nugget, art showings, a Chautauqua presentation of "Sisters of the Sage" at Dangberg Historic Park, Salsa dancing and more.

Heading into Tuesday, August 27, 2019 we're looking at continued hot weather around the capital city, with daytime highs in the mid to upper 90s. Ahead is a job fair at the Carson Nugget, a Fat Tuesday business networking gathering, a morning walk, evening hike and a bike ride with Muscle Powered, free skin cancer testing offered by Carson Tahoe Health and Wellness Institute, a Relay for Life fundraiser at Firehouse Subs and more.

Heading into the final week of August and the Labor Day weekend around the corner, Monday, August 26 looks to be another especially hot day across the capital city and western Nevada with highs in the mid-90s. Activities around the capital city include a talk about earthquake preparedness with Carson City's fire chief, art showings, a clay club ceramics class at Western Nevada College, West Coast swing dancing at Carson Lanes and more. Enjoy the day.

There will be a business networking social in Carson City on September 24. The Fat Tuesday event is from 5:30 o 7:30 p.m. at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St., Carson City at the high table at the Alatte.

A Carson City business networking group, Fat Tuesday, will meet this Tuesday, August 27 at Alatte inside the Carson Nugget. All are welcome, attendance if free and there isn't a membership fee.
